Worship and Production

Each week, the Worship Ministry at Baring Cross offers multiple opportunities to serve. Our Worship team is diverse in function and style, but shares common vision and purpose. Whether you desire to play an instrument, sing in the choir, or work behind the scenes with production, we have a place for you!

Our purpose is to proclaim the life changing power of Jesus Christ through music. Music can have a powerful impact if presented with the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. In 2 Kings 3:15, "Elisha said, 'But now bring me a musician,' Then it happened, when the musician played that the hand of the Lord came upon him." Putting God's message to a beautiful melody can move people.

The Worship Ministry encompasses each aspect of our mission. The purpose of worship at our church is not just about music and about what takes place within a musical aspect of worship. It's about living a life of worship 24/7, with our jobs, our relationships, our finances, the way we spend our time AND the communion of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Worship Choir

There is no audition for the worship choir. We welcome you and would be delighted for you to join us on Wednesday nights for rehearsal at 6:30 PM in the choir room located in the Music Ministry suite. The Wedgwood Worship Choir leads worship in the morning worship services. In addition, there are occasional evening services and events that the choir is also part of leading. The Worship Choir has opportunities around the community and mission ventures where they are able to also assist in leading worship. Please contact the worship office for more information.

We have an awesome and cherished privilege of leading literally thousands to the throne of God every week in our live worship services and by means of television. This is a responsibility we take joyfully and seriously. Our entire purpose is to prepare the hearts of those before us for the Word of God. It's also our desire to prepare the heart of the Pastor as he brings the Word to the people. You have a role in that work as a choir member. You will find this wonderful choir to be a place of great encouragement, support, strength, refreshment, musical challenge and fulfillment. But most of all you will find yourself in an atmosphere of worship and reverence to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

The purpose of the Worship Choir is to proclaim to a lost world, the life-changing power of salvation found in Jesus Christ, and to proclaim to Christians, the life changing power of worship in a believer's life.

This ministry is exciting because of the tremendous calling and responsibility we have to lead the way of the King! As part of our team, we offer encouragement and seek not only to lead you musically, but to minister to your spiritual and social needs. Besides these, choir is just plain fun and a great time of fellowship!

Join us for rehearsal on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm-7:00pm in the Worship Center. For more details, contact Ben Morris.

Kids' Choir

Our Kids' Choir is an energetic group of kids, working to glorify the King together.  They learn about music and learn motions and sign language with the songs.

Children learn how to worship our awesome God and express their devotion to Him through high-energy music, games, skits and relevant object lessons.  Children learn to put God first through praise, prayer and exciting Bible stories.

Kids' Choir meets on Sunday nights from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Instrumental Ensemble

The Instrumental Ensemble is a dynamic ensemble of adult musicians using their skills to the glory of God. We minister each week during Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m., leading our congregation in worship. Our ministry extends from our church to our community and beyond.

The purpose of the Celebration Orchestra is to proclaim to a lost world, the life-changing power of salvation found in Jesus Christ, and to proclaim to Christians, the life changing power of worship in a believer's life.

The Bible commands us to make a joyful noise to the Lord. In Psalm 98:5-6 it says, "Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord."

Join us for rehearsal on Wednesday nights from 5:45pm-6:15pm in the Worship Center. For more information on becoming a part of the Instrumental Ensemble, contact Ben Morris.

Media Team

The Media Ministry provides technical support for all church functions. The Media Ministry also creates recordings of all services and special events. This ministry is comprised of sound, lighting, Pro Presenter/PowerPoint, and looking to add video soon. In weekly worship services, annual events, and frequent other activities, you will find this team giving their time and energy to make things happen.

As we seek to exalt the Gospel through the many ministries of our church, our hope is to capture meaningful stories and communicate them in an effective way. As a result, we need those with the specialized skills to help bring those stories to life. If you have experience in any of the areas below and are interested in serving, please let us know. We’d love to have you on these teams.
